The driver of the train that came on the tracks spotted him and continuously honked and applied emergency brakes. The train fortunately stopped in the nick of time.

The young man was identified as 18-year-old Avinash Prakash Kardile. A rag-picker, who has made CSMT bus stand as his home, Kardile was under the influence of liquor. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) removed him and has been taken into custody. A criminal case has been registered against him under Section 147 of the Railway Act.
