Thai woman's knocks from coffin startle undertakers at cremation
BANGKOK, Nov 27: A 65-year-old Thai woman, presumed dead by her family, was discovered alive inside her coffin at a Buddhist temple in Bangkok just before cremation after staff heard faint knocking sounds, leading to her rescue, a few days ago. The woman, who was bedridden, had become unresponsive and appeared to stop breathing, prompting her brother to place her in a coffin and drive her to the Bangkok temple for cremation. When temple staff were discussing the need for a death certificate, they heard knocking from the coffin. When the coffin was opened, lo, everyone was startled.
