A feeble western disturbance as an upper air system
lies over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir.
Under its influence isolated rain/snow is likely over
Jammu & Kashmir during the next 48 hours. Numerical
weather prediction models indicate that a fresh western
disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan
region and adjoining plains of northwest India from
19th onwards. The maximum temperatures are above normal
by 3-5°C over parts of northwest and west India and
northeastern states. The minimum temperatures are
above normal by 4-6°C over Rajasthan and by 2-4°C
over northwest and central India. The prevailing meteorological
conditions suggest no significant change in temperatures
over northwest and west India during the next 2-3
days.
OUTLOOK
(Mar 19-Mar 21): Scattered precipitation is likely
over western Himalayan region and isolated rain/thundershowers
over adjoining plains.
