      The maximum temperatures are 2-3°C below normal over most parts of northwest and central India. In view of likely isolated rain/thundershower activity, the maximum temperatures are likely to remain near / below normal for the next 3 days. Consequently there is no possibility of development of heat wave conditions during the next 5 days in the above regions. In association with north-south trough and embedded upper air cyclonic circulation, east and northeastern parts of the country are likely to experience isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers accompanied with squall during next 2-3 days. Rainfall is likely to increase over extreme south peninsula and Andaman & Nicobar islands after 48 hours. The highest maximum temperature of 43.5°C in the country was recorded at Ongole (Andhra Pradesh).

     Isolated rain/thundershower is likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab; isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi; rain/thundershower is likely in a few places in West Bengal, Sikkim and Orissa; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in east up, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and Sikkim; rain/thundershower is likely in a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya; rin/thundershower is likely in a few places in Andaman & Nicobar islands in the next 48 hours and increase thereafter; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours and increase thereafter; isolated rain/thundershowers is likely in coastal Andhra Pradesh; isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan; isolated rain/thundershower is likely in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh; and, mainly dry weather in the rest of the country.
