A western disturbance as an upper air system lies
over Jammu & Kashmir and the neighbourhood. Induced
cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km a.m.s.l.
lies over west Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan. Under
its influence, scattered to fairly widespread rain/snow
is likely over western Himalayan region in the next
48 hours. Isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers
are also likely over plains of northwest India during
the period. Fog/shallow fog conditions prevailed over
parts of Uttar Pradesh, north Bihar, Gangetic West
Bengal, Punjab, east Haryana and Delhi. It is likely
to continue mainly in morning hours in the next 1-2
days. The minimum temperatures are above normal by
8-10°C over north Rajasthan and 6-8°C over remaining
parts of northwest India and Gujarat region. Current
meteorological conditions suggest that no significant
change in minimum temperature is likely in the next
24 hours and decrease thereafter.
OUTLOOK
(Jan 28-Jan 30): Fall in minimum temperatures is likely
over northwest India. Scattered rain/thundershowers
are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
