           Under the influence of the western disturbance, fairly widespread precipitation activity with isolated heavy falls is likely over western Himalayan region till the 18th. Isolated to scattered rain/thundershower is also likely over the plains of northwest India during the period. Minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal by 7-9°C over north Rajasthan, Punjab and parts of Haryana and by 3-6°C over the remaining parts of northwest & central India. The current scenario of above normal minimum temperatures is likely to continue for the next 24 hours and fall thereafter. The lowest minimum temperature of 4.4°C was recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in the plains of northwest India.

          OUTLOOK (Jan 20-Jan 22): Fall in minimum temperatures over northwest India and adjoining areas of east and central India.
