Under the influence of the western disturbance, fairly
widespread precipitation activity with isolated heavy
falls is likely over western Himalayan region till
the 18th. Isolated to scattered rain/thundershower
is also likely over the plains of northwest India
during the period. Minimum temperatures are above
normal by 3-6° C over northwest and central India.
The current scenario of above normal minimum temperatures
is likely to continue for the next 2-3 days and fall
thereafter. The lowest minimum temperature of 6.3°C
was recorded at Ganganagar (Rajasthan) in the plains
of northwest India.
OUTLOOK
(Jan 19-Jan 21): With the likely northeastwards movement
of the western disturbance, mainly dry weather is
likely over northwest India after the 20th. Fall in
minimum temperatures over northwest India and adjoining
areas of east and central India.
