Fog/shallow fog conditions prevailed over parts of
east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and southeast
Rajasthan. It is likely to continue for the next 1-2
days. A western disturbance is likely to affect the
western Himalayan region and rise in minimum temperature
is also likely over northwest India from 13th January
onwards. Minimum temperatures are above normal by
4-6°C over parts of central and east India and by
2-3°C over parts of the plains of northwest India
except parts of west Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab
where it was near normal. Current meteorological analysis
suggests that they are likely to fall by 2-3°C over
parts of central and adjoining east India in the next
1-2 days. The lowest minimum temperature of 2.4°C
was recorded at Bhatinda (Punjab) in the plains of
northwest India.
OUTLOOK
(Jan 14-Jan 16): Isolated rain/snow is likely over
western Himalayan region.
