           Current meteorological analysis suggests a rise in minimum temperatures during the next 1-2 days by about 2° C over northwest India. A weak easterly wave is likely to affect extreme south peninsula during the next 48 hours. Due to moisture incursion and confluence, isolated to scattered light rain/thundershowers are likely over Central India, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during the next 48 hours. Due to prevailing cloudy conditions and rainfall activity, maximum temperatures are above normal by 4-6° C over central India. Whereas minimum temperature are above normal by the same magnitude. The minimum temperature of 1.6 °C was recorded at Ludhiana (Punjab) in the plains of northwest India.

          OUTLOOK (Jan 12-Jan 14): Mainly dry weather is likely over many parts of the country. · Fall in minimum temperature over Gangetic plains and central India by 2-3°C..
