Fog
conditions prevailed over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi,
Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, parts of sub-Himalayan West
Bengal and west Assam. Fog conditions are likely to
continue over the region during the next 1-2 days.
A western disturbance and its induced upper air cyclonic
circulation will affect Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal
Pradesh during the next 2-3 days. It is likely to
affect plains of northwest India after 24 hours. Minimum
temperatures are below normal by 1-2°C over Punjab,
Haryana and by 2-3°C over parts of east Uttar Pradesh
and Bihar. These are above normal by 2-5°C over parts
of west Rajasthan, Gujarat and west Madhya Pradesh,
remaining parts of northwest and Orissa, these were
near normal during the past 24 hours. Slight rise
in minimum temperature is likely over the plains of
northwest India during the next 48 hours. The lowest
minimum temperature 1.8°C over the plains of northwest
India was recorded at Amritsar.
OUTLOOK
(Jan 6-Jan 8): Slight fall in minimum temperatures
is likely to occur over the plains of northwest India
from 6th January onwards.
