           Fog conditions prevailed over parts of Punjab, Haryana & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Current meteorological analysis suggests that intensity and duration of fog conditions is likely to decrease in the region during the next 3 days. A fresh western disturbance and its induced upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to affect western Himalayan region and adjoining plains of north India mainly on 3rd & 4th January, 2009. Minimum temperatures are below normal by 2-3°C over Indo-Gangetic plains and adjoining central India during the past 24 hours. Rise in minimum temperatures by 2-4°C is likely over the plains of northwest India during the next 3 days.

          OUTLOOK (Jan 5-Jan 7): Slight fall in minimum temperatures is likely to occur over the plains of northwest India from 6th January onwards.
