The
western disturbance lies over Jammu & Kashmir and
neighbourhood. Induced upper air circulation lies
over Punjab and neighborhood extending upto 2.1 km
above mean sea level. Under their influence, fairly
widespread precipitation is likely over western Himalayan
region till tomorrow and decrease thereafter. Isolated
rain/thundershowers are also likely over adjoining
plains of northwest India during the same period.
Minimum and maximum temperatures are 6-8° C above
normal over parts of Rajasthan and 3-4 °C above normal
over remaining parts of northwest India, west and
central India. In view of prevailing southwesterly
winds, minimum and maximum temperatures are likely
to remain appreciably above normal till tomorrow.
They are likely to decrease on 7th & 8th.
OUTLOOK
(Feb 8-Feb 10): A fresh western disturbance is likely
to affect northwest India causing snowfall over hills
and light rain/thundershowers over the plains of northwest
India.
