Weather forecast valid for next 3 days

      Morning’s well marked low pressure area lies over southeast and adjoining south west Bay of Bengal. It is likely to concentrate into depression during next 24 hours. Numerical weather prediction models indicate its initial west-northwestwards movement, leading to increase in rainfall activity over south peninsula. Current meteorological analysis and numerical weather prediction models suggest that a western disturbance as an upper air system is likely to cause scattered precipitation activity over western Himalayan region during next 2-3 days. Minimum Temperatures are above normal by 5-6° C over parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab. some parts of central India and north west Jammu & Kashmir, 3-4° C above normal over remaining parts of central and north west India, Gujarat and 2-3° C above normal over remaining parts of central India and adjoining areas. With the approaching of the western disturbance, the minimum temperatures are likely to continue above normal by 3-5° C over the same region till 16th and decrease thereafter.

WARNING: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and south Tamil Nadu-Puducherry during next 48 hours.

OUTLOOK: Fairly widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls is likely over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, south Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. Increase in rainfall activity over the remaining parts of south peninsula. Fall in night temperatures over northwest and adjoining central India.
