Yesterday’s low pressure area over southeast Arabian
Sea and neighbourhood persists. Under its influence,
scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity is
likely over Lakshadweep during the next 24 hours and
decrease thereafter. Current meteorological analysis
suggests subdued rainfall activity over south peninsula
during the next 5 days. The western disturbance as
an upper air system over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood
persists. It is likely to move away eastward by tomorrow.
Under its influence, scattered precipitation is likely
over western Himalayan region during the next 24 hours.
The minimum temperatures have fallen by 4-6 deg C
during the past 24 hours over north Rajasthan and
2-4 deg C over south Rajasthan, Gujarat and parts
of Punjab. With the eastward movement of western disturbance,
the minimum temperatures are likely to fall further
by 2-4 deg C over parts of northwest and central India
from tomorrow onwards.
OUTLOOK
(Dec
15-Dec 17):
Subdued rainfall activity is likely to continue over
peninsular India. A fresh western disturbance is likely
to approach and cause scattered precipitation activity
over northwest India and also rise in minimum temperature.
