Yesterday’s
feeble low pressure area over southeast Arabian Sea
off Kerala coast persists. It is likely to become
more marked during the next 24 hours. Under its influence,
widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to
very heavy falls is likely over Tamil Nadu, Kerala
and Lakshadweep during the next 2-3 days. Interpretation
of numerical weather prediction models indicate formation
of a fresh low pressure area over westcentral and
adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal during the next
24 hours. Due to prevalence of northwesterly winds,
night temperatures are below normal by 2-3°C over
central & adjoining east India. This scenario is likely
to continue during the next 2-3 days.
WARNING
(Next 48 hours): Isolated heavy to very heavy
rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
