The
southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from remaining
parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim,
some more parts of Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
The southwest monsoon withdrawal line passes through
28.00 N/90.00 E, Diamond Harbour, Gopalpur, Jagdalpur,
Chandrapur, Aurangabad, 20.00 N/65.00 E and 20.00
N/60.00 E. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall
activity is likely over south peninsular India during
the next 3-4 days. The maximum temperatures are above
normal by 3-5°C over parts of central and adjoining
west India. The minimum temperatures are above normal
by 2-4°C over northwest and adjoining central India
and Rajasthan.
OUTLOOK:
The onset of northeast monsoon over south peninsula
is likely on 15 October..
