The morning’s low pressure area over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood
now lies over east Rajasthan and the adjoining areas. Under its influence, fairly
widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely over northwest
Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan during the next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
Current meteorological analysis and Numerical Weather Prediction models suggest
likely interaction of above low pressure area with the mid-tropospheric westerly
trough. Consequently, scattered to fairly wide spread rainfall activity is likely
over east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh during the
next 36 hours. With the association of upper air cyclonic circulation extending
upto 1.5 km over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh, fairly widespread
rainfall activity is likely over West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Orissa and northeastern
states during the next 3-4 days.
