Report & Forecast (Indicating regional changes)
July
11, 2008 Weather
forecast valid for next 3 days
The morning’s low pressure area over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood
persists. Under its influence, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy
to very heavy falls is likely over west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat State and east
and southwest Rajasthan during the next 36 hours and decrease thereafter. Numerical
Weather Prediction models continue to suggest likely interaction of above low
pressure area with the mid-tropospheric westerly trough. Consequently, scattered
to fairly widespread rainfall activity is likely over northwest India during the
next 2-3 days. Current meteorological analysis and numerical weather prediction
models suggest fairly widespread rainfall activity over northeastern states, West
Bengal and Sikkim during the next 4-5 days. The axis of monsoon trough at mean
sea level passes through Phalodi, Ajmer, the centre of low pressure area, Fatehpur,
Gaya, Midnapore, Sagar islands and thence south-eastwards to eastcentral Bay of
Bengal. A secondary trough passes through Gaya, Malda, Kohima and thence eastwards.
.
Rain/ thundershowers are likely at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand,
west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during the next 24 hours
and increase thereafter. Isolated rain/ thundershowers are likely over the rest
of the region. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at many places over Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam and Meghalaya. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at many places over Andaman
and Nicobar islands. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at a few places over north
coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and isolated
over the rest of the region. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at many places over
Konkan, Goa, east and southwest Rajasthan and Gujarat State during the next 36
hours and decrease thereafter. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at few places over
northwest Rajasthan and north Madhya Maharashtra. Rain/ thundershowers are likely
at isolated places over the rest region. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at many
places over west Madhya Pradesh during the next 36 hrs and decrease thereafter.
Rain/ thundershowers are likely at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha
and Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hrs and isolated thereafter.
Mainly
