The morning’s low pressure area over east Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood now
lies over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. Under
its influence, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls
is likely over west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, east Rajasthan and west Uttar
Pradesh during the next 48 hours. With the likely interaction of the above low
pressure area with a mid-tropospheric westerly trough, there is possibility of
scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity over northwest India during the
next 3 days. The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Anoopgarh,
Alwar, centre of low pressure area, Ambikapur, Keonjhargarh and thence south-eastwards
to eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
Rain/ thundershowers are likely at many places over west Uttar Pradesh. Rain/
thundershowers are likely at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand,
Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during the next 24 hours and increase thereafter.
