Dharmendra Pradhan resigns: Education Minister finally succumbs to Cockroach Party protests over NEET fiasco
RESIGNATION IS NO SOLUTION: Dharmendra Pradhan gives up!
Reacting to the news, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said, "We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned."
COMMENT: The Prime Minister's announcement of a Cabinet decision made earlier to defuse the crisis, that fast-track courts will be set up to deal with paper leaks, was the last-resort, a cunning way of appeasing the protesters and fooling the public because it is the Government that conducts the examination and the Government is the accused—An assault on the basic commonsense of every Indian.
NEW DELHI, Jul 25 (INS): Dharmendra Pradhan officially resigned from his post as
Education Minister on Saturday.
Pradhan posted a letter on X on Saturday afternoon stating that he had sent
his resignation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A letter in Hindi can
also be seen alongside his post.
His announcement on his X handle came just hours before the third round of
talks between the Cockroach Janata Party and the Centre was to take place in
the afternoon. And they wanted an answer first: Say 'Yes' or 'No'— about Pradhan's
resignation.

Reacting to the news about the resignation, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder
Abhijeet Dipke said, "We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned."
The resignation followed nationwide intense student demonstrations and over
a month-long protest camps at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar against NEET-UG paper
leaks and the inability of the Government to conduct such prelim exams over
the years, apart from other matters relating to bungling of educational reforms
cast by institutional depression.
Earlier, on Friday, in a bid to defuse the crisis, the Prime Minister had announced
that fast-track courts will be set up to deal with paper leaks (As if the exams
were conducted by some private contractors).
The long struggle
The resignation marks a monumental victory for student unity and is considered
the largest public challenge faced by the Government.
The protests were spearheaded by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), an online
satirical movement led by founder Abhijeet Dipke that quickly grew into a powerful
national campaign. The group adopted the name "cockroach" from a comment made
by a senior judge regarding unemployed youth, turning it into a symbol of resilience.

Renowned activist Sonam Wangchuk significantly bolstered the movement by launching
a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar that lasted 26 days in support of the students.
He ended his fast just two days prior (Thursday night) following intense negotiations
with Ministers regarding student safety and legal protections against police
caes.
Despite a heavy police crackdown, including tear gas and water cannons deployed,
the students undertook a march to Parliament. The CJP refused further Government
talks until Pradhan was removed.
Pradhan announced his resignation through a public letter posted to social
media platform X. He stated that he took moral responsibility for the leaks
from day one but wanted to step down to prevent "anti-national forces" from
exploiting the protests at Jantar Mantar. He noted that his primary wish was
to ensure the future of India's youth would not be entangled in legal complexities.
The incident has triggered a debate on social media whether the officer refused to take orders from a party leader or he was accused of any corruption, some netizens justifying the handling in either case, that Ratnakar was blocking public welfare work! It is true the Govt machinery has been the enemy Number One of the people of this country, existing for itself and for these politicians, for well over seven decades. India will never make an inch of progress - real progress, not make-believe-progress - unless and until this machinery is eliminated.

PROGNOSIS: It looks a Real New Trump is emerging - courageous, balanced, powerful and disinterested. Determined to save his country from the cliff, he has done quite a few draconian things that will reduce the burden of debts of the Federal entity, like the golden handshake, stopping senseless funding, pulling out of a worthless WHO. Shutting the Education Department is another. On the other hand, running it is also not the Centre's job either (We will convincingly elaborate it in the next chapter).
In India the scene is just the opposite. Centralisation is the core agenda and identity of the ruling dispensation without which it has no existence, or in other words, it exists for that set of schemes only. A realisation of this never dawned upon any Opposition party in 2014 or any time thereafter, what to talk of being able to see it coming 70 years ago! The consequence of all this violation of basic natural law of the universe we cannot predict.

The terminations are part of a large-scale exercise going on all across Fed departments and organisations to reduce wasteful Government expenditure as decided by a Trump in a mess gone berserk, and improve administrative efficiency following the whims of billionaire and his associate Elon MusK and his DOGE. It has not been shared how terminations are going to raise the efficiency bar! It looks like Trump has stolen some of the prescriptions meant for India. But the American problems are quite different.
