 Narendra Kumar showcases his collection
at Lakme Fashion Week       Mumbai: Bollywood
divas set the ramp on fire as Mumbai based designer Narendra
Kumar presented his collection at the ongoing Lakme Fashion
Week on Monday. Inspired by the Sunsilk style range, the celebrity
designer unveiled his new collection "Nari Nari". The collection
saw a lot of prints primarily targeting today's youth. Speaking
about his collection, Kumar said that it was targeted at very
young, hip and the stylish women of today. "I think that today
prints are really important part of the show as they echo
fashion in a way and had to be something which young could
associate with. The prints which I have used are not heavy,"
said Kumar. The highlight of the show was Bollywood actors
Mugdha Godse, Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut walking down
the ramp. Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar and the actor
of the film 'Fashion' Arjan Bajwa were also seen enjoying
the show. LFW, which will be held till October 24, will involve
events like media seminars, business-to-business meetings
and a buyers' forum, apart from the regular fashion shows.
The event will also provide a platform for fresh designers
who possess the talent through the Gen Next and emerging designer
category shows. Apart from this there would be 'Group Accessory
Designer show' where an array of accessories like headgears,
handbags and shoes would be an interpretation of fashion by
20 renowned artists through their artworks. Around 75 designers
would showcase their collections in this season of the fashion
                    week. -Oct 21, 2008
