International airlines offer discount

          NEW DELHI: International airlines have decided to offer 30 per cent discount on tickets booked ten days before travel date. Earlier, discount was available only if the ticket was booked 20 days in advance. Bookings five days prior to travel will attract 15 per cent rebate. Besides, penalty on cancellation of tickets has also been reduced to 25 per cent instead of 50 per cent of fare.

Fuel tax exemption

          NEW DELHI: Foreign airlines will be exempted from sales tax on turbine fuel bought from Indian airports. The Lok Sabha (Upper House of Parliament) has passed the Aircraft (Exemption from Taxes and Duties on Fuel and Lubricants) Bill, 2000.
