Kaziranga National Park

          THE PARK , 430 sq km in area, lies 217 km east of Guwahati and 96 km from Jorhat by road. The landscape consists of dense forests and marshy stretches. It is home for the great Indian one-horned rhinoceros.

A RARE SPECIES: The one-horned rhinoceros

          Other wildlife in the park consists of elephant, Asiatic buffalo, Indian bison, swamp deer, sambar, hog deer, sloth bear, tiger, leaopard, leopard cat, jungle cat, hog badger, capped langur, hoolock gibbon, jackel, goose, hornbill.

     One can travel to Kaziranga from Guwahati by bus or car.Nearest rail head is Furkating, and the airport is at Guwahati.
