Current meteorological analysis suggests no significant
change in minimum temperatures in the next 1-2 days.
Thereafter a gradual increasing trend is likely over
northwest India till 10th January 2009. A weak easterly
wave is likely to affect extreme south peninsula in
the next 48 hours. Due to moisture incursion and confluence,
light rain/thundershowers is likely over east and
adjoining central India in the next 2-3 days. The
lowest minimum temperature of 2.4 °C was recorded
at Adampur (Punjab) in the plains of northwest India.
OUTLOOK
(Jan 10-Jan 12): Mainly dry weather is likely over
many parts of the country.
