Weather Report & Forecast
(Indicating regional changes)

February 10, 2009

Weather forecast valid for next 3 days

A western disturbance currently lying over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir is likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread precipitation over western Himalayan region and northern plains during the next 2-3 days. The minimum temperatures are above normal by 3-5°C over parts of Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh. Due to prevalence of southwesterly winds, the minimum temperatures are likely to increase by 2-4°C over indo-Gangetic plains during the next 48 hours. Interpretation of numerical weather prediction modals indicate that another western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region during 13th -15th.

OUTLOOK (Feb 12-Feb 14): Scattered to fairly widespread precipitation is likely over western Himalayan region. Fall in minimum temperature is likely over plains of northwest India.
