Northeast monsoon rains has ceased over Tamilnadu
and adjoining areas. Fog
condition prevailed over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and
parts of Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan and north
Bihar. Current meteorological analysis suggests that
fog conditions are likely to prevail, however there
will be a progressive decrease in the intensity and
duration during next 1-2 days. Due
to fog conditions, minimum temperatures are 1-3º
C above normal over parts of Punjab, Haryana, west
Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Current meteorological
analysis suggests likely fall in minimum temperatures
during the next 48 hours. Thus the minimum temperatures
are likely to become near normal over the region.
A
fresh western disturbance and its induced upper air
cyclonic circulation is likely to affect western Himalayan
region and adjoining plains of north India on 3rd
& 4th January, 2009.
OUTLOOK
(Jan 3-Jan 5): Light to moderate rain/snow is likely
over western Himalayan region and light rain/thundershowers
are also likely over adjoining plains of north India.
Minimum temperatures are likely to increase over plains
of northwest India upto 4th January and fall thereafter.
