Under the influence of the western disturbance over
Jammu & Kashmir and mid-troposphere westerly trough,
scattered to fairly widespread rain/snowfall is likely
over western Himalayan region during the next 24 hours
and decrease considerably thereafter. The minimum
temperatures are above normal by 4-6 deg C over northwest,
central and adjoining parts of east India and likely
to fall by 3-5 deg C over these areas during the next
2-3 days. Numerical weather prediction model suggests
light wind conditions over northwest India. Under
this scenario shallow to dense fog is likely over
parts of the plains of northwest India during the
next 3-4 days. Fog is prevailing over parts of Punjab,
Haryana, west Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand
and West Bengal.
