October 27, 2008
Weather
forecast valid for next 3 days
The
deep depression over Bangladesh weakened rapidly and
now lies as a well marked low pressure area over Maghalaya
and neighbourhood. Under its influence, fairly widespread
rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is
likely over northeastern states till tomorrow morning
and considerably decrease thereafter. A western disturbance
as an upper air system is likely to cause isolated
to scattered precipitation over western Himalayan
region during 28th to 30th. The rainfall activity
is likely to remain subdued over south peninsula during
the next 5 days. Numerical weather prediction models
indicate formation of a cyclonic circulation/low pressure
area over west central Bay of Bengal during the next
48 hours.
WARNING:
Isolated
heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over northeastern
states during the next 12 hours. Isolated heavy to
very heavy rainfall is also likely over Andaman &
Nicobar islands during the next 48 hours.
