The upper air cyclonic circulation now lies over Jharkhand and adjoining Orissa
extending upto mid-tropospheric levels and has caused fairly widespread rainfall
with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Orissa and Chhattisgarh. The current
rainfall activity is likely to continue over the above area during next 24 hours.
The axis of the trough at sea level passes through Anoopgarh, Sikar, Agra, Lucknow,
Daltonganj, Contai and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Current
meteorological analysis and Numerical Weather Prediction models suggest fairly
widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls is likely over Indo-Gangetic
plains and adjoining central India during the next 2-3 days. Strong southwesterly
winds along the west coast is likely to cause fairly widespread rainfall with
isolated heavy falls over Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Konkan & Goa. Rain/
thundershowers are likely at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh,
Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at a few places
over the rest of the region. Rain/ thundershowers are likely at most places over
Orissa during the next 24 hours and decrease thereafter. Rain/ thundershowers
