Formation of a fresh low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal during the
next 24 hours is indicated, which subsequently increases the rainfall activity
over east India. An off-shore trough extending from Maharashtra coast to Kerala
coast persists. Under its influence fairly widespread rainfall activity with isolated
heavy to very heavy falls is likely over Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka during
next 2-3 days. The current meteorological analysis suggest enhanced rainfall activity
with heavy to very heavy falls over parts of western Himalayan region. Rainfall
activity is also likely to increase in some parts of plains of northwest India.
Rain/thundershowers
are likely at many places over Jammu division of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh,
Uttarakhand, Punjab, north Haryana and Chandigarh. Rain/thundershowers are likely
at a few places over the rest of the region during the next 24 hours and increase
thereafter. Rain/thundershowers are likely at most places over West Bengal & Sikkim,
Bihar and coastal Orissa. Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over the
