The axis of monsoon trough at sea level continues to pass through foothills of
the Himalayas. Morning’s cyclonic circulation extending upto mid-tropospheric
levels over Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal persists. Under this
scenario, fairly widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy
falls is likely over northeastern states, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, north Uttar
Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 3-4 days. Numerical Weather Prediction models
suggest sub-dued rainfall activity likely over interior Peninsula & adjoining
Central India during next 3-4 days. The off-shore trough at sea level from Karnataka
coast to Kerala coast persists and it is likely to cause fairly widespread rainfall
with isolated heavy falls over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep during
next 3-4 days.
