The axis of monsoon trough at sea level continues to pass through the foothills
of the Himalayas. Under this scenario, fairly widespread rainfall activity with
isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely to occur over the northeastern states
and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 3-4 days. The current
meteorological analysis and Numerical Weather Prediction models also suggest fairly
widespread rainfall activity over Bihar, Jharkhand and east Uttar Pradesh during
the next 3-4 days. The off-shore trough at sea level runs from Karnataka coast
to Kerala coast persists and it is likely to cause fairly widespread rainfall
over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 3-4 days.
