Jammu-Srinagar National Highway re-opens

Srinagar: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the lone road link between Kashmir and rest of the country, was re-opened for traffic after remaining closed for more than a day due to heavy snowfall and landslides in the area. The highway was re-opened after the landslide that hit Panthal area was removed and snow at Jawahir tunnel was cleared. Snow cutting machines and labourers have been pressed into service by Baramullah district administration to clear the routes.
