Jammu-Srinagar highway closed after snowfall
Srinagar:
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only road
link between Kashmir and the rest of the country was closed
for traffic today due to heavy snowfall. The blockage
was caused due to heavy snow at Jawahir tunnel and Patnitop.
Besides, the road also became slippery at several places
at Ramban- Banihal belt, traffic police officials said.
Over 1200 vehcles are stuck on the highway and the Border
Roads Organisation (BRO) is trying to clear the snow off
the highway.
