Jaipur hotels offer heavy discounts
by
Lokendra Singh
Jaipur:
The hotels in Jaipur are offering heavy discounts
to attract tourists during the festive season. Many of
them have lowered rates almost up to 40 per cent. They
are also offering discount packages to sustain tourist
inflows affected by the recessionary trends blowing across
the world. "There is no end of discounts. We are slightly
flexible, but it is a good value of money what we are
offering. So numbers of domestic guests has definitely
increased," said Rajesh Rajpurohit, General Manager of
a prominent hotel in Jaipur. With the decline in the arrival
of foreign guests, many hoteliers believe that such measures
will give a boost to the hotel industry. The domestic
tourists are also benefiting from the discounted packages.
"The hotels are getting cheaper. Even the tourist cars
as we rented or hired, they are coming up for good deals
for the tourists. Overall, it is good," said Misha, a
tourist from Mumbai. Over the past decade, Rajasthan has
emerged as one of the favourite tourist destinations in
India, both for domestic and foreign tourists. An estimated
600,000 foreign tourists visit the state annually, besides
over seven million domestic tourists.
