White Water Rafting Expedition in Uttarakhand

          Rishikesh (Uttarakhand): The 13-day expedition called the Golden Key White Water Rafting Expedition 2007, organised by the Indian Army in Uttarakhand, has come to a close. It was flagged off on March 17 from Nandprayag in the Himalayas and ended in Veer Bhadra Barrage in Rishikesh on River Ganges. The rafters, who have traversed a distance of approximately 196 km, were awarded for their achievement and bravery. "The basic objective is to inculcate the spirit of adventure, sports, and to instil in them the spirit of courageous activities so that they can develop killer instincts required during the war. Second, the aim was to meet ex servicemen and former army jawans in this 200 km route," said Brigadier Anil Verma, General Officer Commanding, Golden Key Division of Indian Army. The expedition team comprised of two officers and 17 jawans.
