Adventure camps in Himachal for kids in summer

Shimla: Students from several parts of the country are flocking Himachal to make the best of their summer holidays. The children keep themselves busy in adventure activities like trekking, rocking climbing and river rafting. They stay in small huts in the forests. They call the concept as 'schooling with nature'. The organisers feel the activity will promote the overall growth of the children. "Our aim is that children should come and stay in the natural atmosphere. They will get acquainted with the trees, the birds. This will help not only in their physical but also mental development," said Alok Kumar, Manager of Potter Hills camp. Situate at 2,130 metres above sea level with temperatures rarely crossing 25 degrees during summers, Shimla or the "Queen of hills" draws a large number of tourists during the months April to June.
