Tourists flock to Manali

         Manali: The heat of the plains is forcing tourists, domestic and foreign, to flock to Manali to enjoy its cool and soothing clime. The snow-clad mountains, clubbed with waterfalls and temples, offer a picturesque sojourn for the tourists. Adventure sports too offer an exciting pastime. Ayush, a tourist from Uttar Pradesh, and Saha, an Israeli tourist, said that they were enjoying the weather as well as the food on offer at Manali. The Himachal Pradesh Tourism has offered enjoyable packages such as Himachal food festival, local crafts and the folk culture, Gujarat and Maharashtra food festivals at the Club House," said A K Sharma, General Manager of Himachal Pradesh Tourism, Manali. Hotels in places like Shimla, Dharamshala and Dalhousie have registered full occupancy. The tourist inflow is expected to increase in the next one month. Last year, 6.5 million tourists, including foreigners, visited the state. More than three million domestic and foreign tourists visit the state annually.
