Railway tickets at post offices

          New Delhi: Select post offices will dispense computerized railway tickets. The Department of Posts and the Indian Railways signed a Memorandum of Understating (MOU) here today to this effect. S.Samanth, Chief General Manager (Business Development) on behalf of the Department of Posts, while A.K. Goyal, Additional Member (Commercial) Railway Board, signed the MOU. It was signed in the presence of the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Communication and IT Minister A.Raja, Minister of State for Communication and IT, Dr.Shakeel Ahmad, Minister of State for Railways, Naranbhai J.Rathwa. This facility will be available in about 30 identified post offices throughout the country. The Post Offices will be extending e-ticketing facilities to the public. With its huge network of over 1, 55,000, the post offices, the department of posts is best suited to provide this service.
