enjoy in snow-clad Manali Manali: While freezing wind during mornings and late evenings making it tough for people in north India to stay in open for too long, the honeymooners visiting Manali in Himachal Pradesh are having a truly gala experience here. With large number of marriages solemnised this season, honeymooners are thronging the scenic snow-clad Manali to enjoy wonderful and everlasting conjugal moments.
This time a record number of newly wed couples have arrived at the hill
resort of Manali. Newlywed couples also visited the nearby religious places
and offered prayers during their memorable vacation in Manali. There are
many youngsters who have already visited Manali with family or friends
but are ecstatic to enjoy a special winter here, this time with their
spouses. "I have come here earlier with my friends. It's a beautiful place
and I decided then that when I get married, I will come here for my honeymoon,"
said Kunal, a tourist from Kolkata. Yet for others, it is an exploration
and a walk taken down the memory lanes. "I wanted to explore other States
and liked Manali and Shimla very much. I wanted to walk down the memory
lanes of the college life spent here," said Amit, a tourist from Roorkee.
Apart from the enchanting panorama of the foothills of the Himalayas,
the honeymooners are lured by the romance of rides on ponies and horses,
yaks as well as the adventure of skiing, paragliding and cruising along
in snowmobiles. "I had a great time. Now, we are planning to paraglide
and also the snowmobile. I think Manali is a really beautiful place,"
said Ching, a tourist. Many couples enjoyed boat rides on the Beas. It
is estimated around 18,000 couples make Manali their destination for their
honeymoon during the winter season. Manali, located 40 kilometres from
Kullu towards the north. Some of the famous places of worship here are
the Hadimba and the Manu temples. Manali is a popular Himalayan tourist
destination and accounts for nearly a quarter of all tourist arrivals
in Himachal Pradesh.
