British woman found murdered in Goa

          Panaji: A 52-year-old British woman was found murdered with her throat slit here today. Denise Adelade Ann Higgins lived in a rented bungalow alone for the past six months at Gogol, Margao in South Goa, 45 kms away from the state capital Panaji. Police arrested the accused Anand Kamble from the Margao Railway station when he was preparing to flee from Goa. Accused Kamble was well known to the deceased and had visited her house eight to nine times in last four months, according to the police. The accused had visited the deceased on Thursday along with his wife and a three- year old daughter and had stayed in the bungalow. Police suspect it was somewhere after midnight the British lady was killed by the accused. A rickshaw driver had informed the police about the murder after he reached at the lady's house this morning. The British lady was a fixed customer of the rickshaw driver and had called him in on Friday morning to take her to the market.
