Pak train passengers can travel by road at Wagah

Lahore: After the temporary suspension of the Khokropar-Munabao train service, India has allowed Pakistani passengers to travel to the country by road via the Wagah-Atari border. The Indian High Commission announced this in Lahore yesterday. The Indian mission said that the decision was taken to facilitate travellers to India who were facing inconvenience as they tried to have their visas modified following the temporary suspension of the train service. It had, therefore, authorised travel to India via the Wagah- Attari route, either by train or bus, for those holding visas for the Khokropar-Munabao route, the Daily Times quoted sources at the Indian High Commission as saying. The Indian High Commission also clarified that the passengers need not visit the mission, and have their passports stamped to have route changes endorsed. Current visas for any route would be accepted, it added.
