Jaipur
shimmered to allure tourists on Diwali Jaipur:
On Diwali, the biggest festival of the country, Jaipur wore a bridal
look. Adorned with sparkling lightings and amidst the bursting firecrackers,
many of them creating a shape of a blossoming flower in the sky, made
the event a huge celebration for everyone visiting Jaipur at this time
of the festive season. No matter which place one visited, almost every
nook and corner of the city was decorated with colourful decorative lights
put up on walls of the houses, shops and buildings in various arrangements.
Tourists coming from across the country and many from different parts
of the worlds were astonished to witness the grand celebration and revelry.
"I think it's absolutely fabulous. I have been visiting Jaipur for 30
years and always like to be here for Diwali festival. I think this year
is spectacular," said Jenvas, a tourist. "The lighting is very impressive,
something very extraordinary which we cannot see in Bombay (Mumbai). As
we entered Jaipur, we saw on both the sides, so many colourful lights
as if to welcome us as visitors to the city. It really looks like Diwali,
the festival of lights, in the true sense," said Dibang, another tourist
from Mumbai. Meanwhile, traders and businessmen took the initiative to
make popular market places like Chura Rasta and Johari Bazar wear an attractive
look on Diwali. "The main objective of this lighting is to attract more
tourists to Jaipur for celebrating Diwali in a special way surrounded
by decorative lights. We also want to help our business grow through such
a special decorations and celebration," said Krishna, President, Chura
Rasta Traders Association.
