Park's deer loves idlis, Vishakhapatnam:
Seetha, a deer at the Kambalakonda Nature Park (KNP) in Vishakapattinam
is the cynosure of all eyes due to her craving for idlis, burgers and
assorted beverages. Seetha also loves chapattis. Animal lovers, particularly
kids love to play with Seetha and also offer her food like fried rice
and cooked vegetables. Surprisingly, Seetha is not camera shy and prefers
humnan to animal company. "She eats Biryani and other food stuffs. It
is a surprise for us. She is well versed with the human nature. Visitors,
particularly children, come and play with her. She is a nice deer,' said
P Ashik, one of the visitors. "We caught her at Srikakulam. She has been
living here since last year. As she has come from domestic environment,
she is not scared of the people around her. The rangers and the staff
manning the park are taking full care of her. She does not mix with the
wild herds," said S Vijay Kiran, Divisional Forest Officer, Vishakapattinam
Range . "This female deer remains with staff and visitors during day and
goes to hut in night. She spends night in wilderness and comes back in
morning. This has become a routine of this unique deer," said S Vijay
Kiran. Indeed, Seetha provides a food for thought for a lot of people
who have often debunk the friendship between human beings and animals
usually mentioned in fairy tales. |
