Helicopter tourism to be launched in Kerala soon Kochi:
"Helicopter Tourism" services will soon become a major attraction
in God's Own Country - Kerala, with the first launch in the second week
of this month. Helicopter tourism will be introduced in Kerala for the
first time by the second week of October, said Airtravel Enterprises (ATE)
Chairman E M Najeeb in the ongoing Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) 2006 here.
An initiative of Great India Tour Company (GITC) under ATE, Helicopter
Tourism will offer several cost effective packages like 'Capital by Air',
'Backwaters by Air', 'Around the Hills' and 'Shoreline Flights'. While
'Capital by Air' offers a sightseeing trip around the city of Thiruvananthapuram,
'Backwaters by Air' will take tourists around Kumarakom. 'Around the Hills'
will provide tourists with a taste of Thekkady, Munnar, Kochi and Kumarakom,
while 'Shoreline Flights' will offer sightseeing facilities in Kanyakumari
along the State's picturesque coastline. The packages are being launched
in association with King Rotors and Air Charter Private Limited. The visitors
will be taken from one tourist spot to the other in a seven-seater helicopter
to save time and also discomfort on the roads. At the ongoing mart, GITC
is showcasing a bouquet of tourism packages including Golf Tourism, Sports
and Rural Tourism and Medical Tourism. In association with the Trivandrum
Golf Club, GITC has also taken up the move to promote golf tourism in
the state. The move is being supported by the Kerala Tourism Department.
GITC intends to bring major names in the sport to the club and plans to
have tie-ups with corporate and other organisations. |
