instrumentalist becomes popular in Jaipur Jaipur: A German composer and instrumentalist, Prem Joshua, has become famous in the Pink city. He plays a soulful music of fusion of contemporary western rhythms with the classical strings. Joshua was playing music since the age of five uears. He has adopted all genres of music--Rock, Jazz and fusion. He finally opted for Indian classical music after attending a performance by renowned sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar. Joshua claims music that extends beyond geographical boundaries and binds people of world with its own language. "I find no problem in bringing music from all over the world together as one music. We are uniting music, this is world music, and this is true world music to bring cultures together. It's big fun playing music with these people. In music, we can speak one language, which is the language of joy. In this sense, the world music has a tremendous energy and capability of bringing people together ," said Joshua. At age 18, Joshua was off to explore every hidden corner in the world. He spent ten valuable years in India in order to gel with the traditional-classical music that rests in the roots of the country. This belief was shared with his mesmerized listeners, who strived to come out of the soulful synchronization of Rajasthani 'morchang' (a traditional musical instrument resembling a jew's- harp) with western guitars. "Its very soul stirring and music in any case is food for soul. It's always very nice; it takes you away from your worries, from your daily problems. So it's really nice...It's very simple and understated, yet the music is wow, really wow," said Nidhi, a music lover at the show.
