30 injured in grenade attack on
tourist bus in Srinagar

Srinagar: At least thirty tourists were injured in two separate terrorist attacks on tourist buses at Badyari Chowk in Dalgate area and at Chinar Bagh here on Wednesday. The attacks took place in quick succession of each other. According to sources, most of the tourists were from West Bengal. The militants hurled a grenade at the tourist bus at Badyari Chowk area at around 5.40 pm. Minutes later another grenade was hurled at another bus in the Chinar Bagh area. Officials said they rushed the injured to the Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences where the condition of one of the injured was stated to be critical. No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack comes in less than a week when four tourists, including a child and a woman, were killed on May 25 when militants threw a grenade at their bus in Srinagar. The minibus was packed with nearly 15 people all hailing from Gujarat who were staying in a houseboat in the city's famed Dal Lake area and were moving towards the historical Mughal gardens.
