Enjoy lion safari in Dadra-Nagar Haveli Mumbai: If you are making advance plans for an exotic holiday, think of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. With the local authorities promoting the place with features like Lion Safari and Deer Park in Vasona-Silvassa, the place is bound to attract an increased number of tourists from across the country and abroad. A pair of lion and lioness has been brought to Dadra from Junagarh district. The arrival of a few more lions is on cards to make this safari a favourite destination among domestic and international tourists. Besides, the tourism department is also in the process of getting new cubs from the wildlife department of Maharashtra. "To
fill-in a tourist itinerary, we have to have wildlife and eco tourism
aspects and our thrust area for Dadra and Nagar Haveli," said A.D. Nikam,
Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The Lion
Safari is spread over an area of twenty hectares, which is part of continuous

the roaring waterfalls, misty cascades, rustic stone walls, twin arches,
tiny kiosks and green lawns interspersed with islands of flowers. "This
place is really beautiful for both the domestic and international tourists.
We have come here to see around. Tourists can come and stay here for two
or three nights," said Mustafa Khambati, a tourist from Mumbai Moreover,
Deer Park is another must-see place after Lion Safari in Silvasa. One
can watch the Sambhar, Nilgais and Chitals wandering around in the natural
surroundings. The "Machan" (Watch Tower) near the waterhole, provides
panoramic view of the sanctuary. There are 49 sambhars and 14 nilgais
in the park. In Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the climate is warm and humid
