Jolie sets June 3 for having her baby

      Washington: It seems Angelina Jolie is running out of patience, as the mom-to-be claims that if the baby doesn't make it into the world by June 3, she will have labour induced at the beginning of next month. Pitt and Jolie have flown their obstetrician/gynaecologist to Namibia's Burning Shore resort, and are ready with all the pre- delivery preparations. Meanwhile, Jolie is reported to be in a perfect physical and mental state, and is expected to have a normal delivery. "Doctors who have examined Angie say she should have a normal delivery with no complications," Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling Life + Style Magazine "She's in great physical and mental shape. I don't think there's going to be a problem with the baby or the mother," a local Namibian doctor, who examined Jolie earlier this week, said.

      London: Director Sofia Coppola's latest film about the life of the legendary French Queen, Marie Antoinette has been booed at a screening in Cannes. The film starring Kirsten Dunst is based on Austrian-born Marie Antoinette who is married the crown prince of France in 1770 and became queen when her husband was crowned King Louis XVI. For radicals of the French revolution, she would become a hate figure infamous for supposedly remarking about poor people with no bread: "Let them eat cake." She was later was guillotined by revolutionaries in 1793. However the audience of critics, writers and film goers in the south of France did not like Hollywood's treatment of her life story. Coppola said that she was "disappointed" by critic's reaction to the film at a press conference. Putting up a brave face she said, "It's better to get a reaction, it's better than a mediocre response. Hopefully some people will enjoy it. I think it's not for everybody." Spider-Man star Kirsten, sporting a new ginger barnet, defended the film, saying: "I like the movie and I'm really proud." British actor Steve Coogan who plays the Ambassadeur Mercy in the film said of the critic's reaction, "When you make something that's personal and specific it's inevitable that there will be some naysayers, and it's better to have that than just have a bland uniform response. "I think it shows that Sofia is true to her voice. I've seen the film and it's consistent with all the qualities that make her films great in the past. People who like Sofia Coppola will love this film; the Sun quoted him as saying.

Cruise's new California hilltop haven (Go To Top)

       Washington: Actor Tom Cruise has reportedly acquired a plot overlooking California's San Fernando Valley, to build a quiet dream home for his family. The remote hilltop plot has been secretly purchased from the Church of Scientology, and according to officials, Tom bought the property plot last year (05) for 10 million dollars, and now hopes to build a home there, reports Contactmusic. According to an insider telling 'In Touch' magazine, the Mission:Impossible star plans to spend another 25 million dollars on the project, after agreeing to knock down one existing property and buying up a second neighbour's home. However, Cruise's dreams of being alone on the hilltop retreat with his clan have been dashed, as the third neighbour has refused to sell his property to the actor.

      London: While stars like Victoria Beckham may believe in being pencil thin, pop princess Beyonce Knowles doesn't mind piling on the pounds to look more bootylicious. The 24-year-old diva recently shed two stone for her chick flick Dreamgirls - but as soon as filming finished, piled on the pounds by eating lots of fried food. "Immediately the next day I ate fried chicken, fried fish, french fries - anything fried and the weight started to come on fast and easy," she was quoted by the Sun, as saying. Unlike most celebrities in the spotlight, Beyonce showed concern for those who diet. "It wasn't healthy though. I didn't look like me at all in the film which was the point," she added.

Female fans doubted Jackman's sexuality (Go To Top)

      Washington: Hugh Jackman admits he was aware that his sexuality was discussed among female audiences when he appeared as a gay pop star on Broadway, as his wife overheard some fans talking about him. The actor, who is married to actress Deborra Lee Furness, appeared as Peter Allen in the New York production of 'The Boy from Oz' before gaining fame in Hollywood. However, despite being an icon, many of his female fans doubted whether Jackman is actually a homosexual. "My wife saw the show about 40 times and she'd laugh every time she went to the washroom in the interval. All she'd hear was, 'Is he or isn't he one?' Then someone else would say, 'Oh, that doesn't mean anything! We had a good laugh about it" Contactmusic quoted the actor, as saying. Nevertheless, Jackman insists his gay persona hasn't landed him any propositions from members of his own sex. "I didn't get any awkward propositions from men, but I was already used to the gay scene, having been brought up in Sydney," added the actor.

Laxatives behind hot 'Baywatch' bodies (Go To Top)

       Washington: Former Baywatch star Erika Eleniak admits she took 'laxatives' as she didn't consider her body 'thin enough' to flaunt it in the red swimsuit on the set of the surf drama. The actress, who was 19 when she got her big break on the show, admits resorting to laxative was one of the most stupid things she ever did because it left her in agony. "I can remember feeling heavy... I weighed maybe 120 (pounds). I spent the day going 'I'm not thin enough, I have to hide.' The worst thing I've ever done was definitely laxative abuse. That's just so awful - you get incredible stomach aches," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. "I went to the emergency room once for that and for four hours it was the most excruciating thing I'd ever felt," she added. Eleniak is now trying to lose her post-pregnancy weight the healthy way by signing up as a contestant on the fourth season of hit US reality show Celebrity Fit Club, which is opening in August (06).
