New York: Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow drew a number of gasps in New York this week, when she was seen ordering raw fish and downing a bottle of 'Guiness'. The pregnant star was reportedly spotted dining with husband Chris Martin at hip lower East Side sushi bar Cube 63 on Tuesday (28 March) night, where she stunned diners by placing the order for what appeared to be sushi - considered to be potentially harmful during pregnancy because of the drink's high iron content - and drinking the alcoholic beverage. "People were looking and waving, and she just tried to melt further into the corner," New York Daily quoted one witness, who said the actress ordered salad and what appeared to be sushi, as saying. However, a representative for the actress confirmed that she drank the alcoholic beverage, but said she ate only cooked food, not sushi.

Rap could be on its way out of Vegas (Go To Top)

Washington: Las Vegas could become a rap-free zone if officials at the state's Gaming Control Board have their way. The group managed to halt a recent Snoop Dogg performance in the city after pressuring casino owners to get involved with a new Sin City clean-up campaign. The board has now issued a warning to casino operators that rap acts are "serious threats to the community," reports Contactmusic. After a local police officer was shot by an aspiring rapper named Amir Crump, Nevada's State Gaming Control Board took action. It started last June, after four local rappers were shot to death in Clark County in a span of a few months. Sheriff Bill Young of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sent a letter to state gambling regulators urging them to discourage casinos from booking rappers. Some clubs that promote rap music say they are being subjected to frequent police visits and inspections. In a Feb. 7 letter to casino operators, the board expressed particular concern about "gangster rap." The term, used mainly in the early 1990s, describes music that features raw lyrics about violent gang activities. In the late 1990s, two high-profile rap artists, Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. were slain in still-unsolved cases. Shakur's murder was committed in Las Vegas, and helped to fuel the impression that violent lyrics are linked to actual violence.

"During a dance routine, a fake nail kept getting caught in it. The capes were meant to look like they were elevating, but they were actually being raised by fishing wire, but it all got caught up in her wig," Femalefirst quoted the source, as telling website The Scoop. The 'Destiny's Child' band member is currently filming 'Dreamgirls', a film based on a trio of black female soul singers who cross over to the pop charts in the early 1960's.
